So guys - I'm getting two new Ginarolo eyes! 8D

First, the revelation: I was messing around with eyeballs the other day, (ふふふ) when I realized that 16mm eyes look better in -everyone-. Not just Atelair and Melange, but like... all of my dolls look really good in 16mm. The 16's are good in Atelair because they make him all dewey-eyed, and the 16's are good in Shin, Azel, and Naoto because they're more mature-looking.

SO on to the eyes. They've been shipped, and they are:

I was going to a doll meet with Mel, but it turned out plans had changed and the meeting wasn't where it was scheduled to be. This is by far one of my favourite photoshoots, second possibly to the kimono shoot with Melange and Azel. The photography isn't as crisp I think, which makes me want to go get one of those expensive cameras. However, it's not as portable. Hmmm, decisions decisions.

Anyway, here's the photoshoot: "Numbers"!

I love taking pictures of Melange with her default eyes in. I'll have to find another pair that I really, really like taking pictures of her in.

Also, there has been a lack of Shin in these photoseries! I think it's because I love his default hair, but it mooshes out to the side in a really unflattering way. I'll have to take some epically awesome shots of him soon. (OH WAIT, I DO HAVE AWESOME SHOTS OF HIM!)

Flowers, Millions of them!

There's this really nice ring of flowers around a certain art sculpture (which is actually where the next photoset takes place), and I thought Atelair would enjoy it down there:

I especially like this one. :3

When I was first ordering him in FCS, I wasn't incredibly thrilled, but I really wanted to order a doll in FCS, and I loved the ear options for the MSD's. I remember thinking that I'd never seen the robot wings as ears before (I'd only seen cat or dragon ears). As soon as he was done, I fell so much in love with him, especially as an MSD. He's so light! I had only gotten SD13's (Shin and Azel) before, and carrying them around together was a chore. But Atelair can pretty much go anywhere happily. :D

Regarding Mijn Schatje

Mijn Schatje, a rather successful "artist" who has hosted a couple of art shows and has sells her work on iPod/laptop skins on infectious.com, is an art thief.

She has taken ABJD pictures, both from company stock photos and from owners themselves and has used them without their permission to vector over into what she calls "original" pieces of art.

Some examples of the thievery can be found here. None of the pictures are modified, and neither are her works - the overlay in the middle is to show how both the doll picture and the "art" line up perfectly.

It seems that now LUTS is thinking of taking legal action upon Mijn Schatje, as well.

So, there you have it folks. It saddens me to see a person using others' doll photos without permission, much less making money off of it. To give you an idea, her laptop skins sell for about $30, and her "original" prints sell for about $1,0000.

She is making money illegally off of someone else's doll photos.

If this concerns you as much as it does me, please crosspost it on your journal and let people know. It's not right that she touts her work as 100 percent original when it clearly is forged.

Fun With Scanners (Nudity)

So, somewhere on DoA there was a thread about dolls in scanners. For our Electronic Media class, we had to bring something to scan - so, why not my dear Melange?

Kudos to Photobucket if they decide to keep this up, and NOT DELETE IT, PLZ.

To be honest, it's the first time I've used Photoshop to manipulate photos of my dolls. :D I actually kind of like it.

Update on teh Family and To-Do List

I usually use this journal to post dollfie pics, but usually not what I've been hoping for/doing in the dollfie community. I don't think anyone's amazingly interested in what I do, though I was thinking it might be fun to branch out into the dollfie community, and try to avoid (too much?) crazy.

I'm both a member on DoD, Resinality and DoA, and while both have a different feel to it, I don't think I have that many friends on either (I actually think the friends I have that aren't IRL that I met due to dollfies are darkawaii and dubious_volute). So, I'm trying to branch out and post everyone on DoA (and if they're really good photos, DoD) just to get some cameratime for teh family. :D

Melange
I got apoxie sculpt a day ago, and now I'll be working hard on Melange's eyes to even them out a bit (due to the sanding off of her moulded eyelashes, she has some uneven eyes), and possibly get some rare earth magnets to make her a magnetic headcap (I'm still unsure as to whether or not her headcap can take drills, or if I should use sculpt) and possibly mod her head so that it can take an S hook (which would be badass). Also, using the apoxie sculpt, I want to be able to add a niche in her thigh joint that allows her to sit up straight like Shin, Azel, and Atelair do, because doing sitting poses with her suck ass. Also, as a note, I might want to re-string her without the knot in her foot because that affects her standing poseability, too.

Shin n' Azel
Also, reading newbabyfly's modding a rotating thigh joint tutorial on Resinality, I want to try it with either Shin or Azel. Also, I got the two of them a new pair of hands to share (previously, they had 'trigger fingers' which are awesome and not normally sold in stores, but since I have no guns for them, are completely useless), so I need to sand those mofos. In addition to that - they have some staining in the crotchal region because of their pants. I need to a) get a Mr. Clean Eraser to them and b) get them underwear, as much as Shin may hate it.

Shin: Goddamnit woman, let me be free!

And well, Atelair is perfect, so there's no mods to be done on him. :D

...but maybe get him a MSD wig in blonde, or a fur wig, because his dark brown wig, while nice, keeps falling in his eyes and obstructing his eyes.

That's basically it - I don't really want to buy new dolls because I can't transport them easily as it is (it looks like I have to take only one or two dolls along if I'm going somewhere), but the "if I had a million dollars" and "if I had a house/apartment of my very own to keep them in (which may be soon) -

Homme Ducan as Heat from DDS. I used to think it was super-lame to make a doll for a favourite character, but now I'm actually reconsidering it. You know, it might be fun to make a Pinky Street doll for Heat (def. costs less) - but I think I just want an excuse to buy a Homme Ducan.

Camine as Serph. I know Sha would look better, but I saw a Sha in real life, and was terrified. Ducans and Camines are so much nicer than Sha's (IMHO).

Obviously, I've done a lot of updates to the journal, and I want to draw in a cut little background for it, too. :3

The Red Couch

Hey guys! After I did some comparison pics for a person on DoD (see: Azel's head on Mel's body is bobbleheaded.) I plopped the two down on the red couch and took some pictures. It's a shame I can't seem to find the time to professionally photograph my lovelies, but these pics will have to do.

I fucking love Mel's wig. Those sides are detachable, and they're also on a wire, so those buns are simply curled ponytails. 83 Sometime I'll photograph her for real. At the moment, I'm ordering apoxie sculpt to give her back her eyelids that I almost nearly shaved off, and perhaps have time to Magic Eraser Shin and Azel before transporting the family off to college.

I'm a horrible person - it was Shin's birthday yesterday and I have not posted any pictures of him. He's been staring at me despondently all today. :(

Dolls Stolen at Dollpa.

This post/photostory is regarding the dolls stolen at the NYC Dolpa. It's absolutely horrible that seven dolls were stolen from NYC (regardless of some of the security issues) and I hope that the thief is caught soon. Everyone here does, too.

Atelair: It's come to our attention that... seven original one-off contest dolls were stolen from the NYC Dolpa.

Atelair: If it was someone from the dollfie community, I am severely disappointed in you.

I'm -so- lucky to have been around in Japan when Dolpa 19 was around. 8D Here's some of my pics from it, including some before and after shots of my dolls being pimped out (aw yeah!)

A lot of these I have little words for except that they were totally stunning. Really, going to Dolpa was like no dollmeet I'd been to before. No half-naked boys, no uncombed wigs - everyone had their dolls REALLY taken care of.

Azel's multi-coloured eyes - I think the hair looks weird with his outfit, but I literally haven't had the time to change it. T_T

I was so enthralled with Melange's new look, I had to devote an entire little photostory to her...

Such a cute little outfit! I, like an idjit, had decided that since she was about the same size as Shin, that she should take 18mm's, but in fact she takes Atelair's size - 16mm's, which is awesome - I have two 18mm's and two 16mm's, so that will ease my pain in buying ONE pair of eyes that will only fit one doll.
